Easter Egg Hunt!

The Prairie du Chien Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 30. It is located on the grounds of Bluff Haven & Prairie Maison, 720 S. Fremont St. The Easter Bunny will also be there! 

The times are: 

9:55 am- 0-2 yrs

10:05 am- 3 & 4 yrs

10:12 am- 5 & 6 yrs

10:17 am- 7 & 8 yrs

10:22 am- 9 & 10 yrs

10:27 am- 11 and up

Jellybean Sorting!

Today, the students each got a cup of colorful jellybeans. They sorted them onto a sheet by color, and then counted how many of each color they had. They are experts at sorting now, and they are doing very well with writing their numbers! The best part was they got to eat their jellybeans at the end. :)

Learning Centers

Today, the students had 3 fun centers to travel through! The students used little people to make patterns; they were able to choose if they wanted to make an AB, ABB, or AAB pattern. They also worked on their fine motor skills and played with play-doh. They used the rolling pins, and the cookie cutters, which they loved! The final center was the Number Board Game from our Everyday Math kit. They played with a partner, and it helped with their number recognition as well as one to one correspondence. Check out some of their hard work!

Happy Birthday Bailee!

We celebrated a very special birthday today! Happy 5th Birthday Bailee! Thanks so much for the yummy cupcakes. :)

V is for Vase!

Jolly Phonics Sound of the Week is /v/. The students made a vase filled with flowers! They colored their V and flowers, and cut them out as well. They turned out very cute, and it got us in the mood for Spring!

W Words!

The students were so proud of all of the W words they could name this morning! They came up with 25, all on their own. :) 

Afternoon Fun!

This afternoon we had lots of fun playing with our homemade play-doh and painting with shamrock cookie cutters. Yesterday, the students helped me make the play-doh and it was cooled off and ready to be played with today! They used it to roll small pieces of gold, and then placed their gold on the numbered pot. 

Ezra had to make 9 gold pieces for his number 9 pot!

The students also dipped cookie-cutters shaped like shamrocks into green paint to fill up their paper. They used a variety of sizes, and enjoyed getting a little messy. :)

Calling all 4 year olds!

W is for Whale

This week our sound is /w/. We made a whale! The students colored a W and a head and tail. They cut the pieces out and glued them all together to make a whale. Check them out!

Happy 5th Birthday to Lillian! Thanks so much for the great treats today. We hope you have a special day!

Farm to School!

Today, we got to listen to a real farmer talk about how he milks cows! We even got to sit and pretend we were milking a cow. We played a bean bag game, and got to sample string cheese and vanilla flavored milk. It has been a great morning!
