Apple Trees

Today, we made apple trees. The apples had the letters of the students' name on them. They colored their trees, and put the apples in order to make their name. It was great practice for them and they turned out great!

Apples!

Today, we had a tasting party with apples! The students each tried a piece of a red, green, and yellow apple. When they were finished, they colored an apple to show which color was their favorite. As part of our Everyday Math program, we then graphed our apples to show the results. This group really enjoyed the green apples! 

September 23-27

Our theme this week is apples! We started to talk about how apples grow and the colors of apples. We are very excited to be able to taste the three different colors of apples (red, yellow and green) this week and make a graph of our favorite ones! Our first apple project was tearing red paper to cover the entire apple. Check out some of our work!

Color Trains!

For the last two weeks we have been learning all about colors. The students colored a train car to correspond with many of the colors we were learning about. Yesterday, we spent time putting our long color trains together. It was great practice for them to recognize the colors again, as well as number recognition and putting the numbers in order to complete the train.

All About Yellow!

These next few weeks in 4K we are learning about a different color each day. Yesterday, we learned all about the color yellow. We listened to a yellow song, colored a yellow train, and even painted a big yellow sun! The students had a lot of fun painting for the first time; check out some of their great work!

Book Orders are due Friday, September 13th!

This Friday we will also be riding a bus over to the High School to enjoy the Homecoming pep rally! 

Please be sure your child is wearing the proper footwear for the playground. If they have on sandals they should have a strap on the back, otherwise tennis shoes are great!

Early Release Today!

There will be no afternoon 4K because of the early release today due to heat. We will be getting out of school at 1:30 PM!

Friendship Bracelets!

During our first week in 4K, we made friendship bracelets. This was a great activity for the students to get to know everyone's names and to share beads with everyone in our class. Each student had a turn to walk around and give a different bead to each person while saying their name. Check out some of the pictures!
