Turkey Names

We have been working hard on learning the letters in our names. The students colored their turkey's body, and then worked with me one on one to put the letters of their name in order. The letters were on turkey feathers, and they glued them in order on their turkey.

We had a few fun centers today! They colored their castanets for their jolly phonics sound book, worked together on sorting buttons according to the shape (flowers, hearts, triangle, square, and circle) and did work in their journals. They told me why their family is special to them, and they drew a picture of all the members in their family. They did such a great job and worked so hard; check out some of their work.

Families

This week we are talking about our families. The children colored each member of their family and glued them on a large piece of paper!

The children had a lot of fun making paper plate scarecrows! They colored his hat, used buttons for his eyes, a triangle for his nose, string for his mouth, and strips of paper for his hair. Check them out!

Scarecrow Books

Yesterday, the students worked on a number scarecrow book. They worked on one-to-one correspondence by putting the correct number of crows under the number on the scarecrow. The book had numbers 1-6 on it, and they did an excellent job all on their own!

For today's project, the students made owls. They cut out many different shapes such as a triangle, circles and made squares into circles by cutting the corners. They did a great job!

They also had fun using the pattern blocks to make different pictures. They worked on making their own patterns as well!

Halloween Fun!

Check out all the fun Halloween costumes! The children also enjoyed playing musical chairs and pin the nose on the pumpkin. They also used the smart board and made patterns with jack-o-lanterns.
