Fun on the Computers!

The students really enjoyed getting to play on their own computer today! They were on www.abcya.com, and got to choose from letter or number games. We have used this site on the Smartboard, so they were familiar with it. We hope to use them more often. :)

Bailee was matching lowercase letters to the uppercase letter.

Gabriel was playing a letter matching game.

Gabriel, Westin, and Kaileigh give it two thumbs up!

Olivia even helped us!

Our Leprechauns

Today we made leprechauns! It was a very busy project. They had to do lots of coloring and cutting, as well as fold strips of paper accordion style. They turned out great!

The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Our final traditional tale we did was The Three Billy Goats Gruff.

The little billy goat, trip-trapping on the bridge.

The mean troll says, "Who is trip-trapping on my bridge?"

The medium sized billy goat went trip-trapping over the bridge.

She says, "Please don't eat me, my brother is bigger."

The third billy goat went trip-trapping over the bridge.

The mean troll says she is going to eat him, and the third billy goat says to come and try it! The third billy goat, pushed the troll over the bridge in to the water!

Learning Centers

For our learning centers today, we did some fun activities! As part of our Everyday Math series, the students played a Racing Cars game. They played with a partner and each had a race car, they rolled a die and moved that many spaces. Another group played a shamrock memory game. The students took turns flipping over two cards and had to match the number with the shamrock card that had that many shamrocks on it. The third center, the students worked on their fine motor skills. They chose a card, and had to put the correct beads on their string that went with the card they chose!

The 3 Little Pigs!

This week we are reading some fun traditional tales! We are very excited to listen to the story and get to retell it using puppets. Today, we started by reading the 3 little pigs, and then a few of the students acted it out with puppets. They had a great time, and did awesome at remembering the story!
